JLL retail director joins niche agency

A prominent member of Jones Lang LaSalle’s retail agency team has joined niche London-based retail practice McKinnon Property.

William Nelson, who co-ran JLL’s high street landlord team for all areas outside of London, is now on gardening leave. He be joining McKinnon Property as an equity partner and director in mid-September.

JLL senior surveyor Myles McKinnon has followed Nelson in leaving to join McKinnon Property, which was set up by McKinnon’s brother, former Westfield leasing executive Fergus McKinnon, in 2011.

While at JLL, Nelson and McKinnon focused on retail agency across the UK, acting for a number of clients including Aviva Investors, LIM, DTZi, F&C REIT and CBREi.

The duo will open a new London office in Brewer Street in Soho. The firm also has an office in Birmingham.

Nelson and McKinnon were both part of independent retail agency Churston Heard before it was bought by JLL in July 2008.
