JLL scoops Greenwich office brief…

Jones Lang LaSalle is to become the letting agent for 3.5m sq ft of office space in the Greenwich Peninsula.

Meridian Delta Limited (MDL), a joint venture between Lend Lease and Quintain Estates & Development, is due to select JLL as its office agent for the £5bn scheme.

MDL owns the 47-acre site on a long lease from English Partnerships and has consent for a Terry Farrell & Partners-designed masterplan that includes 10,000 homes and 350,000 sq ft of shops.

MDL will seek tenants from the financial, pharmaceutical and media industries, as well as government agencies. JLL will seek prelets for the offices, which can be delivered by 2007.

The site sits north of the Millennium Village and south of the O2 complex, formerly known as the Millennium Dome. The 23,000-seat O2 arena will be delivered and operated by Anschutz Entertainment, and will be ready for mid-2007.

An MDL spokesman said: “MDL is in the process of selecting commercial property advisers for its planned 3.5m sq ft of consented office space on the Greenwich Peninsula development. MDL expects to be able to confirm details of appointments shortly.”
