Jones Lang LaSalle has been appointed to lure international tenants to one of Scotland’s largest speculative office schemes.
The agent will join the Glasgow and London teams at CB Richard Ellis and Glasgow specialist Ryden to advise Maxim on its 756,000 sq ft development on the Glasgow-Edinburgh M8 road link.
Maxim said the appointment would increase “the global competitiveness of the project”, and revealed talks were already underway with prospective occupiers.
The developer hopes to attract large global operators to the scheme, which is located within 30 minutes both Glasgow and Edinburgh airports.
Two buildings are set for completion in the autumn with the entire park – comprising eight additional office buildings, a hotel, shops and leisure facilities – to be ready in 2010.
Maxim chief executive Karen Campbell said: “Jones Lang LaSalle has the global reach we need to bring Maxim to the attention of international players in need of a high-grade EMEA location.
“We are having encouraging discussions with a number of prospective occupants, and will be making our first agreements shortly. Retail and other operators are in place.”
JLL national head of office agency Chris Hiatt said: “Maxim is a world-class development that will build on Scotland’s fantastic record for innovation, and position the region as a serious location for global players.”
