JLW buys Sykes International in New York

Jones Lang Wootton North America has acquired the New York office of Sykes International, which specialises in representing European corporations in Manhattan. Sykes was set up in 1985 by two former Richard Ellis partners.

Its clients include BP, Bank of Scotland and Clifford Chance.

Chairman Richard Sykes and managing director Patrick Gardner will join JLW’s Midtown operation.

The affiliate offices Sykes International in San Francisco and Denver will be become part of JLW, while affiliate offices in Sydney and Johannesburg will still trade as Sykes International.

JLW North America has opened an office in Atlanta to service the south east region of the US. It has recruited David Steinwedell, formerly head of Cushman Realty Corporation in Atlanta.
