Related Argent has appointed former Cushman & Wakefield global CEO and president John Forrester as strategic adviser, as Argent completes its merger with Related Argent.
Forrester has joined the board and will collaborate closely with Related Argent chief executive Tom Goodall and other executive directors to drive its expansion.
As of today, the Argent LLP business ceased operating and its staff, assets and projects have all transferred to Related Argent, which has operated in parallel since 2015.
Related Argent has become the developer and asset manager of the King’s Cross estate, in addition to its existing role as developer and asset manager of Brent Cross Town, Heart of Hale and the recently-opened build-to-rent building, Author King’s Cross.
Goodall said Forrester was a “true titan of the property industry”, adding: “His broad skills and understanding of global real estate markets is unrivalled and will be of enormous benefit to our business as we grow our development pipeline and plan for continued growth.”
Forrester said: “Being appointed as strategic adviser for one of the most exciting and innovative property businesses in the UK is a fantastic opportunity.”
Forrester said that in his new role, he would be “supporting a business I have always admired and which has the ability to drive positive change for our cities and the people who live and work in them”. He added: “The UK real estate market is crying out for scale solutions from proven developers and Related Argent is without doubt the leader in that field.”
Kenneth Wong, chief operating officer at Related Companies and chairman of Related London, said: “John has been a friend and supporter of Related Argent in the UK and Related Companies in the US for many years and it is with great pleasure that we welcome him into the team as a strategic adviser. We have an exciting future ahead and his expertise and experience will be invaluable as we navigate the UK’s current real estate market.”
