John Lewis buys Snowdonia hotel for staff

The John Lewis Partnership has acquired the Bala Lake Hotel in Snowdonia, Wales from a private investor for around £2m.

JLP, the parent company of Waitrose and John Lewis, has bought the leisure facility for use by its employees in the region.

Situated on the south side of Bala Lake, the hotel alongside 70 acres of grounds will offer access to outdoor-based pursuits.

JLP owns four further leisure destinations at Ambleside, Brownsea Island, Cookham in Buckinghamshire, and Leckford in Hampshire.

Christie + Co acted on behalf of JLP; Knight Frank acted on behalf of the vendor.
