John Lewis Partnership homes in on new London HQ

The John Lewis Partnership is narrowing its options for a new West End HQ. The department store chain has shortlisted Land Securities’ 210,000 sq ft 123 Victoria Street and Doughty Hanson’s and Terrace Hill’s 141,500 sq ft Howick Place, both SW1, for its 40,000 sq ft requirement. The space is in addition to its offices at 171 Victoria Street. JLP, which this week announced a 60% increase in profit to £145.5m, is moving staff from the Clearings in Chelsea, SW3, which it is keen to sell. The 1-acre site has potential for residential redevelopment. JLL is acting for JLP; CBRE is letting agent at 123 Victoria Street; Cushman & Wakefield and CBRE are advising on Howick Place.
