John Lewis spends £300m on revamp

Tyrrell & Green, the John Lewis-owned Southampton department store, has moved to another location in the town and re-opened under the parent company name.

It is part of a £300m revamp of the 25-strong John Lewis department store chain which will see all brands, probably with the exception of Peter Jones in Sloane Square, converted to the John Lewis name.

The new Southampton shop in the £400m West Quay shopping centre will open later this week. Further new store openings in out-of-town sites will be called John Lewis to keep in with the single brand theme.
