John Lewis wins SW1 deal

The John Lewis Partnership has gone under offer for around 35,000 sq ft at Land Securities’ 123 Victoria Street, SW1.

It is understood to be paying circa £55 per sq ft for the space at the 210,000 sq ft development.

In September, JLP shortlisted 123 Victoria Street and Doughty Hanson’s and Terrace Hill’s 141,500 sq ft Howick Place, also SW1, as preferred options for a new West End HQ.

The space is in addition to the retailer’s offices at 171 Victoria Street. The new building will house staff moving from its Clearings site in Chelsea, SW3, which it is keen to sell. The 1-acre site has potential for residential redevelopment.

Jones Lang LaSalle is acting for JLP; CBRE is letting agent at 123 Victoria Street.
