John Partridge joins Cording Group

Savills Cordea founder and executive chairman John Partridge has been appointed executive chairman of UK and European real estate investor Cording Group.

Cording Group was founded in 2009, and has €1.6bn (£1.3bn) of assets under management, including £450m of investment mandates. The group invests in commercial property through specialist funds and single-client managed accounts vehicles.

Partridge said: “Cording Group has already taken significant steps towards becoming an important independent property investment and asset manager and this is a very exciting time for me to be joining. I am sure that my experience will help Cording Group provide investment and asset management solutions which will meet the changing needs of investors in today’s challenging market conditions.

“I believe that Cording Group is in exactly the right place to take advantage of both the next phase in the property lifecycle and the very major changes that we are seeing in the property fund management industry.”

Cording Group chief executive Peter Dove said: “With John joining as executive chairman and becoming a major shareholder in the business, Cording Group looks forward to continuing to build its business in the UK and selected European markets. John’s views of the property sector and future changes in the property fund management industry resonate with ours.

“We will combine his understanding of the requirements and preferences of investors with our ability to provide comprehensive and agile property level solutions. Having John join is a real coup for Cording Group and will enable us to take the business to the next level.”
