Joint venture plans £200m food park for south east Cardiff

A joint venture between Foodparks UK, Hyder and Cardiff County Council is building a food park in the south east of Cardiff. The development, on a 121.41ha (300 acre) flatlands site, will cost nearly £200m. Funding will come from the public and private sector.

The council has committed £15m to provide access roads and infrastructure. It hopes to attract component suppliers of the planned £1.7bn LG factory at Newport.

The site is next to a proposed £12m Eurorail freight terminal which is looking to win a £5m government grant.
