Joseph Homes wins consent for 1,500-home Gravesend scheme

Joseph Homes has received unanimous approval to build 1,500 mixed-tenure homes at its Albion Waterside scheme in Gravesend, Kent.

Gravesham Borough Council gave the thumbs up to the project at the committee on 21 July.

The plans from JTP Architects include 151 build-to-rent homes, 150 affordable homes and 130 later living homes, with the remaining 1,069 to be provided as market sale.

Development will also see 6.2 acres of new public realm, an extended promenade and upgrades to the highway network.

Some 65% of the 13.6-acre site will be dedicated to open space and gardens. There will also be almost 50,000 sq ft of space for local business, with retail, restaurants and workspace.
