Birmingham is looking forward to a surge of tourists over the summer following the Commonwealth Games.
As fireworks and Ozzy Osborne helped to send off the games at last night’s closing ceremony, more than 1.5m tickets were revealed to have been sold, making it one of the most successful Commonwealth Games in history.
Hotels are reporting near-95% occupancy, while Airbnb has announced a £500,000 legacy pledge for the region which will see it do more to showcase its cultural highlights.
