Jurys Doyle has announced plans to open a Jurys Inn in Newcastle with 274 rooms at a cost of £17.9m.
Building will start this month. It will open spring 2003.
The new venue will take the total number of inns on the UK mainland to seven. Another hotel is due to open in Croydon, Surrey, in January and Jurys is targeting cities such as Reading, Berkshire, Liverpool and Glasgow for its budget concept in the next four years.
