The Czech Republic’s richest man, billionaire Petr Kellner, is making his UK property debut with a £63m luxury housing scheme in Highgate, N6.
Kellner’s investment company PPF Group has bought a 1-acre plot on Bishopswood Road from Highgate School for £17.5m.
The site has consent to convert two existing properties into nine-bedroom villas, each with a 125ft garden, as well as two more six-bedroom homes.
It marks PPF’s first real estate project in the capital. The group operates predominantly in the Czech Republic and central and eastern European countries.
Highgate is one of London’s most exclusive suburbs, with Bishopswood Road close to Bishops Avenue, N2, dubbed “billionaires’ row” because of its residents, who include Russian oligarchs and Saudi Arabian families.
Kellner is ranked 106th in the 2013 Forbes World’s Billionaires list, with an estimated fortune of £6.8bn.
Savills and Benham & Reeves advised the vendor. All parties declined to comment.
