Kelly appointed to Co-op board

Sir Christopher Kelly, who wrote a critical report into failings at the Co-operative Bank, has been appointed to the former parent group’s board.

The former civil servant is to join the Co-operative Group’s board as a senior independent director, and will be paid £75,000 per year.

Former Hamleys chief executive Simon Burke is also joining the board, as a non-executive director until May next year.
