Kent County Council has announced a shortlist of three developers for its proposed 515-acre Business Park at West Malling, near Maidstone.
They are Stanhope Securities, Rouse & Associates and Arlington Securities. The council will form a development partnership with whoever it finally selects.
Up to 12 major developers are understood to have entered tenders for consideration. The council says the scheme could be worth as much as £400m and would cover 3m sq ft.
According to a joint policy statement published by KCC and Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council, the local planning authority, they want a large campus-style business park for hi-tech companies.
The three proposals will be recommended to the policy and resources committee by March 21.
