Kettering picks LET

Kettering Borough Council has selected London & Edinburgh Trust to refurbish and extend the Newborough Shopping Centre from a shortlist of four. The disappointed developers are Heron Sellar Properties, Hunting Gate Group and General Continental Investments.

LET’s scheme includes the refurbishment of the existing malls and the development of a 1.93-acre extension site behind Northall Street to provide 50,000 sq ft of new retail space including a food court, wine bar, leisure club, offices and an additional 200 parking spaces.

The scheme, which has been designed by architects Seymour Harris, should be completed within two years. Kettering council was advised by Donaldsons, while LET’s agents are Lawson Price.
