Argent and the Aga Khan Foundation have been granted planning consent for the 98,672 sq ft Building R1 in King’s Cross, N1.
The nine-storey building is Japanese architect Maki and Associates’ first UK project.
It is the second of a series of buildings in King’s Cross planned by the Aga Khan Development Network, which works to improve welfare in the developing world.
R1 will be used for teaching and research and will sit behind the University of the Arts London’s Eastern Goods Yard Complex.
