The Greater London Authority has allowed consent for a 868-bed student scheme in Battersea from student developer Urbanest.
The mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has ruled that the local authority can determine the application itself, allowing Wandsworth’s approval last November.
The scheme comprises four buildings, between 12 and 20 storeys in height, on a one-acre site on Palmerston Way, SW11. It includes 66,000 sq ft of office space in a 13-storey block, an enterprise business unit, a pub and retail space.
Some 35% of the student accommodation will be affordable, with shared kitchen spaces on each floor as well as communal amenity space on the ground floor, podium and top floors of each building.
