Kier gets 700-home Derby scheme

The Homes & Communities Agency and Derby council have appointed Kier Partnership Homes as preferred developer to bring forward a major mixed-use development.

Plans include 700 homes and a business park.

The scheme will be built on the former Manor and Kingsway hospital site on the edge of Derby’s city centre. Large open spaces will be retained to the north of the site as well as the creation of a new road.

The project will be phased over 10 years.

Kier, along with the HCA, Derby council and current healthcare providers Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, Derby Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and East Midlands Ambulance Service, will embark on a public consultation exercise in the next few months.

Work is due to start on site this autumn.
