Kier Property has secured one of the largest prelets in the West End this year.
The Secretary of State for the Environment has signed for Kiers 90,000 sq ft, 3 Whitehall Place, SW1.
The building will be occupied by the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs. It will pay around £2.3m pa for a 25-year lease.
Kier, which owns a long lease from the Crown Estate, will start work this year and aims to complete by 2004.
Kier was advised by DTZ; the Crown was represented by Cluttons. ATIS Real Weatheralls acted for DEFRA.
