Kilmartin appointed for Southampton scheme

  Scottish developer Kilmartin has been chosen to draw up plans for a £500m waterside scheme in Southampton.   Southampton council has signed an 18-month exclusivity agreement with Southampton council for the development of the Royal Pier and the surrounding area.   The overall scheme is made up of separate sites owned by three owners – Southampton Council, Associated British Ports and the Crown Estate.   Previous plans have been dropped due to high costs, but the site is expected to include a casino and a mixture of homes, hotels and retail.   helen.roxburgh@egi.co.uk
