King Sturge recruits more Chesterton staff for residential division

Industrial specialist King Sturge (KS) has continued its move into the residential market by appointing six ex-Chesterton staff to its new London office.

Last year the property consultancy announced that it wanted to build up its residential brand across the UK (Estates Gazette 14 December 2002, p28).

KS has already appointed seven ex-Chesterton staff in Manchester and another three in Newcastle.

The six defections from Chesterton, all of whom were based in the Knightsbridge office, are: Avril Butt, John Callander, Charlie Vyner-Brook, James Armstrong, John Arnold and Christopher Griffith-Jones.

In addition, Tim Wright will join from FPDSavills.

KS plans to spend between £1.5m and £2m rolling out the brand across the country and recruiting up to 30 residential surveyors across the UK.

The firm now plans to concentrate on expansion in Leeds, Bristol and Swindon, the West Country and along the South Coast.
