Kingfisher has just consolidated its position in the Europe’s top three electricals chains with the acquisition of Belgium’s Hugo Van Praag.
The deal will see Kingfisher double its Belgian store portfolio to 50, when Hugo Van Praag merges with New Vanden Borrre, its existing Belgian operation.
The retail group has not disclosed how much it paid, but analysts assume that it is likely to be low, considering the business generates a £37m turnover business.
