The owner of the Kingsgate shopping centre in Huddersfield has secured a raft of new occupiers.
WD Ltd has signed multi-leisure operator The Light cinema for 70,000 sq ft on a 25-year lease. Opening in the former House of Fraser department store next week, it will offer a cinema, leisure activities and restaurants.
Meanewhile, Holland & Barrett has taken the former 2,000 sq ft Body Shop store on a five- year lease; Pandora has relocated to a larger 1,500 sq ft store on a 10-year lease and Lovisa has taken the 850 sq ft former Game store for 10 years.
Boots will relocate to the centre from King Street into a store spanning circa 16,000 sq ft on a 10-year lease and will open next year.
Other occupiers at the 280,000 sq ft centre include JD Sports, TK Maxx, Sports Direct, HMV, Waterstones and River Island.
Steve Bateman, asset manager of Kingsgate, said: “Huddersfield town centre is seeing some major changes, with interventions from key stakeholders, including Kirklees Council, to remove surplus retail and leisure. This is consolidating the prime retail and leisure pitch within and around Kingsgate Centre.”
