Knight Frank appoints new head of Americas

Knight Frank has promoted Joey Vlasto to regional head for the Americas as part of a drive to bolster transatlantic business development.

Vlasto will be responsible for facilitating collaboration and shared client mandates between Knight Frank and its US partners, Cresa, Berkadia and Douglas Elliman. He will also be responsible for promoting and developing Knight Frank’s global platform on the ground across the Americas.

He will work closely with William Beardmore-Gray, senior partner and group chair, and the leadership teams of Cresa and Berkadia, and alongside Stacey Watson, partner in international residential, who leads the relationship with Douglas Elliman. Their aim is to encourage deeper cross-border collaboration and help Knight Frank’s global client base in navigating the US and Americas real estate market.

Vlasto has worked at Knight Frank for 16 years, based in New York. He joined in 2007 as a global liaison responsible for international enquiries and the management of US clients’ overseas projects, before being promoted to partner where he oversaw Knight Frank’s US operations and played a key role in the development and formation of its US partnerships.

Prior to joining Knight Frank, Vlasto spent three years in an international management and liaison role for BNP Paribas Real Estate with its US partner.

Knight Frank formed a strategic alliance with New York-based residential specialist Douglas Elliman in 2014. Its 15-year alliance with Newmark ended in 2021. Knight Frank announced a partnership with occupier-centric adviser Cresa the same year and in January this year announced a new alliance with Berkadia, a US-based agency backed by Berkshire Hathaway and investment bank Jefferies.

Beardmore-Gray told EG that the cultural fit with the three US businesses was crucial.
