Knight Frank partner Jason Hobbs has left the business after 13 years.
Hobbs was a partner in the residential development land team. He was responsible for land sales and acquisitions in the northern Homes Counties.
His departure comes amid a wider consultation at Knight Frank, which is thought to have affected roles in the residential development team.
He plans to launch his own niche residential development agency based in St Albans before the end of the year.
Hobbs joined Knight Frank in 2008 as an associate in the residential development team and worked on more than £500m in transactions across London and the South East.
He was promoted to partner last June and led residential development land sales across Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and parts of Oxfordshire and Bedfordshire.
In the last year, he handled a range of resi land transactions on behalf of institutional investors and developers, with major deals for clients including Sanctuary Group, Cromwell Property and CBRE GI.
