Knight Frank gains Irish agent

Property consultant Knight Frank has bought Irish estate agent Ganly Walters for an undisclosed sum.

Dublin-based Ganly Walters provides commercial and residential property services. It has more than 40 staff and was established in 1847. It began trading as Knight Frank Ganly Walters on 10 May.

“The acquisition is part of our continuing strategy of expanding our European network of offices,” said Nick Thomlinson, senior partner at Knight Frank. “Ganly Walters complements our business as it’s a premium property consultancy.”

The acquisition follows a spate of consultants acquiring Irish estate agents. In 2005, CBRE bought Gunne, while last year Atisreal bought Harrington Bannon for €10m, and Savills bought Hamilton Osborne King, which until then had been Knight Frank’s partner in Ireland.

Paul McDowell and Robert Ganly, Ganly Walters’ directors, have been appointed proprietary partners at Knight Frank.
