Knight Frank has opened a residential development arm in Cardiff as it looks to take advantage of the city’s resurgent housing market.
The department, bolted on to the group’s commercial office in the city, will be headed by Catherine Maunder (pictured).
It will form part of South-West residential head Edward Heard’s 20-strong team, which is run from Bristol.
Knight Frank has already been appointed in the Welsh capital to:
- Bellway Homes’ 670-apartment scheme at Prospect Place, Cardiff Bay
- St David’s Landmark Place, an apartments and penthouses scheme in the city centre
Maunder said: “Cardiff is one of the fastest growing, most dynamic cities in Europe.
“The opportunities here are very exciting, as has been discovered by our established commercial office here.”
Heard opened the group’s Bristol residential office two years ago.
Since then he has completed on more than 300 city centre properties.
Tony Nicholas, the firm’s commercial partner in Cardiff, said: “From our experience in the commercial sector we recognised a void for a national agent to handle residential schemes.”
Lauren Dawkins has been appointed residential field sales manager for Cardiff.
