L&G starts Staines spec project

Legal & General Property is to speculatively develop a 70,000 sq ft office block on The Causeway in Staines, Surrey.

It said it has started construction on developing the grade-A Building Three scheme at Lotus Park .

The project includes adding 25,000 sq ft through an extra floor and redeveloping the existing property.

Mark Russell, senior fund manager at Legal & General Property, said: “Taking a proactive approach to asset management, we believe that this comprehensive redevelopment will not only enhance and refresh the park’s overall offer, but bring new, grade A office space to a market which is increasingly seeing strong occupier demand.”

Savills has been appointed letting agent on the building, which is due to complete in August 2014.
