Lack of private sector cash puts £110m science and technology centre in jeopardy

A £110m science and technology centre in the middle of Birmingham is in jeopardy because of a £3m shortfall in private funding.

Millennium Point, the flagship Millennium Commission project in the West Midlands, has received backing from Birmingham Council and the University of Central England and has secured £22,5m of European Union regeneration funds.

The Millennium Commission will commit £50m of National Lottery money but only if the rest of the private funding is secured.
