Lambeth appoints estate regen partners

Westbury-Estate-Wandsworth-THUMB.jpegA joint venture between Tibbalds, CPC Project Services and Campbell Reith has been appointed by Lambeth Council to undertake three estate regeneration projects in the borough.

The Tibbalds CampbellReith jv will take on projects at Knights Walk, the Westbury Estate and South Lambeth Estate, which represent more than £200m of investment and will provide 790 mixed-tenure homes.

A Lambeth Council spokesman said: “It is vital that we get started on this work as soon as possible, so it is encouraging that we are moving forward so decisively with the first three schemes.”

“The proposals for the redevelopment of these estates were the result of several months of design work, testing and consultation with residents on the estates; we will ensure that residents are closely involved in all the work we do from here.”

Following community consultation and approval of the feasibility proposals, the team will then take the projects through the planning process and into a phased delivery programme.

The £25m Knights Walk project will improve a section of the Cotton Gardens Estate on Kennington Lane and provide 90 mixed-tenure homes. The Westbury Estate and South Lambeth Estate will each receive an £88m investment and create 350 mixed-tenure homes.

The Tibbalds CampbellReith jv is one of the Homes and Communities Agency’s 18 multidisciplinary panel members, with all three projects procured by Lambeth through this route.
