Lambeth council has approved plans for a £350m tower in Vauxhall, SW8.
McLaren Property’s and Citygrove’s plans for the redevelopment of 69-71 Bondway comprise a 50-storey, residential-led building, dubbed the Jenga Tower.
The KPF-designed, 551ft New Bondway tower is to include 360 private flats, 9,300 sq ft of commercial space and 55,700 sq ft of offices. A further 90 affordable flats will be built in a smaller building next door.
The secretary of state now has 21 days to decide whether to call the project in.
A previous MAKE-designed scheme, called the Octave Tower, was called in and rejected by the secretary of state in 2011 on several grounds, including sustainability and density.
