Lambeth seeks development partner for 320-home Brixton scheme

Lambeth Council is searching for a development partner to deliver 320-homes in Brixton as the second phase of the Somerleyton Road scheme.

The 2.1-acre second phase of the site will include 50 care homes provided at social rent, and 30% affordable housing, as well as community space to replace the existing provision, including a 2,000 sq ft indoor gym.

Phase one of the site has already been delivered and provided local amenities including the new Brixton House theatre and workspace for local businesses.

Lambeth Council cabinet member for sustainable growth and new homes Danny Adilypour said: “We’re doing what we can to get more homes built, despite the challenges of rising building costs, the post-Brexit shortage of workers, and rising interest rates creating uncertainty in the economy.

“Our ambitions for this scheme are to create high-quality and genuinely affordable homes in a sustainable way and to create safer and healthier public spaces.”
