Land deal spurs Tottenham scheme

A deal has been agreed for the sale of the final chunk of land that will allow Tottenham Hotspur Football Club to plough ahead with its £400m stadium redevelopment.

Haringey council this week backed plans to buy the remaining assets it does not own around the Northumberland Park scheme, N17, including houses and industrial land, and then sell it to the club on a 999-year lease.

The sale removes the risk of right-to-light claims holding up the project, which includes 285 homes, shops, offices and leisure space.
