Landmark Wimbledon hotel goes up for sale

  Cannizaro House hotel in Wimbledon, SW19, has come to market for £20m.     The 46 bedroom, four-star hotel, owned by Bridgehouse Hotels, is situated near the All England Tennis Club, with conferencing and banqueting facilities, five private function rooms, a bar and restaurant.   It claims a host of regular celebrity tennis guests including Boris Becker, Pat Cash and John McEnroe.   The hotel is being marketed by Savills   Gerard Nolan, director of Savills, comments: “Cannizaro House presents a fantastic opportunity for an investor to purchase an extremely profitable hotel with the best location in Wimbledon, the likes of which rarely come to the market.”   The 18th century building was originally a private residence let to London aristocrats before being bought by Viscount Melville, Home Secretary and Secretary of State for War, who lived there until the early 1800s.   helen.roxburgh@egi.co.uk
