Landsec looks to sell £500m Ministry of Justice HQ

Landsec has appointed CBRE and Avison Young to find a buyer for the Ministry of Justice headquarters. It is seeking offers of around £500m.

The offices at 102 Petty France, SW1, were formerly occupied by the Home Office before it moved to 2 Marsham Street. The MoJ has been in the 14-storey block since 2008.

Thousands of civil servants work in the building, but it is unclear whether a sale would result in government staff moving to a new office.

The move comes after Landsec outlined plans to rethink some of its London portfolio last year and focus on other cities in the UK.

Chief executive Mark Allan said the group was looking to “reinvest into new growth opportunities”, including more mixed-use assets.

Avison Young is advising the Home Office.
