LandSec puts Edinburgh’s Haymarket House on market

Land Securities Trillium is placing 40,000 sq ft Haymarket House in Edinburgh on the market.

The multi-let office, constructed in 1971, is seen as a likely candidate for redevelopment into a hotel or student accommodation, given that it is old stock opposite the city’s Haymarket Railway Station.

Haymarket House is mainly occupied by public sector departments that are expected to be relocated, and with leases due to expire in the near future, the building could soon be vacant.

Although conversion into hotel or student residential use are seen as likely outcomes for the building, modernisation of the existing office stock is also seen as a possibility.

Land Securities Trillium is believed to be looking for an unconditional sale of the building.

Haymarket House has six floors not including ground.

Jones Lang LaSalle is acting for Land Securities Trillium.
