Land Securities chair Alison Carnwath has resigned from her position as non-executive director at Barclays.
Carnworth previously headed the bank’s remuneration committee, and was criticised by shareholders earlier this year for approving a pay plan for former chief executive officer Bob Diamond.
Her resignation is effective from 24 July.
In a statement announcing her departure, Carnwath said: “With regret I have concluded that I am no longer able to devote sufficient time to my role as a director of Barclays given my other commitments. I would like to thank my colleagues on the board for their support and I wish Barclays continuing success in the future.”
