Land Securities has poached DTZ director Jonathan Evans to lead the asset and property management of its London business division.
Current head of London asset management Robert Heskett will hand over to Evans on 1 June. Heskett, who has been with the company for 30 years, will stay at LandSec until at least the end of 2009, working on the plans for the demerger of the London business. The REIT announced plans last November to split its £15bn portfolio in three: retail London and Trillium.
Evans, who has led DTZ’s inward investment team for the past two years, will be charged with driving investment returns on LandSec’s £8bn London portfolio.
Mike Hussey, managing director of the London business, said: “This is a coup for the business. Jonathan’s role will be vit al in ensuring that not only are our assets working well for us but that they are also working well for our occupiers.”
DTZ’s inward investment team will now report to head of central London investment Colin Wilson.
