Lane7 to strike deals for 180,000 sq ft next year
Bowling operator Lane7 aims to expand its portfolio by 180,000 sq ft by the end of 2025 and add 10 new venues over the next two years.
The company is set to open two venues in Newcastle during the first quarter of next year at a combined 29,000 sq ft. These are part of the 120,000 sq ft of space Lane7 secured in 2024.
Lane7 has also signed for sites in Cambridge, Leeds and Reading, each spanning more than 15,000 sq ft and with an average lease term of 15 years. Six additional sites are currently in the legal process.

The bowling operator made its European debut in October with the opening of its Berlin venue. Two sites in Dublin are set to open in January 2025.
In an interview at the Mapic trade conference, founder Tim Wilks described this period as “a pivotal moment for our European expansion”.
“We are very proud to be fiercely independent and this allows us to act with pace and be decisive, creative and take on challenging sites that others might overlook,” he added. “Whether it’s a former service yard or department store, garage or even a train station, we always bring our signature design and vision.
“At St James’ Quarter, where we opened in 2021, Lane7 accounted for 2% of the entire scheme’s footfall with 400,000 visiting the venue in the first full year. It’s clear that our sites can contribute meaningfully to the overall footfall performance, vibrancy and relevance of town centre and mixed-use destinations.”
