Langtree wins massive Shell job

Langtree has been chosen as preferred bidder to redevelop Shell’s 1,655-acre Carrington site in greater Manchester.

St Modwen, Peel and Langtree were shortlisted for the former chemical works site, which is one of the largest brownfield sites in the country.

Langtree is understood to have paid upwards of £20m for the site, and is now working up a development plan.

The plot could accommodate 1,560 homes and 185 acres of employment space, and is earmarked as a key component of Trafford council’s core strategy development plan.

Shell is being advised by Jones Lang LaSalle; WHR is advising Langtree.

All parties declined to comment.
