Largest scale model of London to be unveiled at MIPIM

The largest scale model of how London will look in the next 15 years is to be unveiled for the first time to the property industry on the London Stand at MIPIM in March.

The model represents more than £100bn of current and future development. Around £40bn is already built or financed, with over £60bn to follow in the next 10-15 years.

It was produced using 3D printing and laser cutting technology with data provided by Ordnance Survey.

Upon returning from Cannes the model will be installed at the New London Architecture galleries, WC1.

Debbie Whitfield, director of New London Architecture, said: “We are delighted to announce the commissioning of the New London Model. More of London’s exciting developments will be on display than ever before, from Old Oak Common to the Royal Docks.

“London is a city that is evolving so quickly, from the skyline to transport infrastructure, that a new model is needed to understand and communicate this change. And where better to unveil it than at the London Stand at MIPIM, an international stage where we can show the scale and breadth of continued development across the Capital.

“Even more people will then be able to see it when it goes on public display at the end of March at the NLA”.
