LaSalle appoints new head of continental Europe

LaSalle Investment Management has appointed Philip La Pierre as its new head of continental Europe.

The German national will oversee LaSalle’s operations in Europe excluding the UK and be responsible for the acquisitions, asset management and fund management teams across continental Europe.

He will also join LaSalle’s European management board.

Before joining LaSalle, La Pierre was co-chief investment officer at Corestate Capital, where he oversaw €16bn of assets under management.

He also spent eight years at Union Investment Real Estate as its head of investment management overseas, where he was responsible for the European investment team and subsequently the global team with a focus on the Americas and Asia.

La Pierre said: “The continent is an important component of the overall global business [at LaSalle] and I look forward to growing the platform as well as achieving our long-term vision.”

Simon Marrison, chief executive of Europe at LaSalle, said: “Philip’s experience and knowledge of European real estate markets will reinforce our position on the continent, particularly in Germany. This is a key market for international investors, and Philip’s appointment will build on our existing presence in country.”

LaSalle has a presence in eight continental European countries and employs more than 80 staff. It is aiming to grow its flagship open-ended funds and its KVG platform.
