Jon Zehner, vice chairman of LaSalle Investment Management, will retire at the end of the year, marking the close of a career spanning more than four decades and nearly 13 years at the company.
Zehner joined LaSalle in 2012 as the global head of investor relations. He then led LaSalle Global Partner Solutions from the end of 2019 until its merger with LaSalle Securities to become LaSalle Global Solutions in 2023. He took on the role of vice chairman in early 2023 and has been a member of the global management committee throughout his time at the company.
His earlier career started with a 28-year stint at JPMorgan, where he became global head of real estate investment banking and head of sub-Saharan Africa, before going on to join AREA Property Partners, now Ares, as senior director in 2009.
Outside of his employment, Zehner also co-founded the European Public Real Estate Association, the Urban Land Institute in Europe and the University of Cambridge’s Real Estate Finance MPhil programme.
He remains chair of the university’s Cambridge Land Economy Advisory Board and a trustee of the ULI, where he recently served as European chair and member of the global board of directors.
He also holds roles as an independent non-executive director of Vukile Property Fund, a Johannesburg-listed REIT, and as a member of King’s College London’s executive council, where he chairs the estates strategy committee.
Zehner said: “I have learned a great deal during my time here and hope that I have contributed something in return.
“As I graduate to this next chapter of my life, I have no doubt that LaSalle will continue to be focused on building relationships of trust with our investor clients while working hard to deliver strong investment performance.”
