Law firm confirms 42,000 sq ft Liverpool letting

Law firm DWF has confirmed that it has signed for 42,000 sq ft of office space at English Cities Fund’s St Paul’s Square scheme in Liverpool.

St Paul's Square, Liverpool

The deal is said to be worth £20 per sq ft, equalling the city’s highest rent, which was set by Ernst & Young when it signed for 6,500 sq ft at Rumford Investments’ Unity scheme in December.

DWF will move into the second phase of the development, which is scheduled for completion in 2008.

It means St Paul’s Square is dominated by solicitors, since Hill Dickinson took 130,000 sq ft at the first phase of the development in 2005.

Halifax Bank of Scotland and Royal Bank of Scotland have been linked with St Paul’s Square by market sources.

HBOS has not settled its outstanding Liverpool requirement following the collapse of a letting at Unity last year.

GVA Grimley and Irving Rice are letting agents on St Paul’s Square.
