Law firm considers office consolidation

DLA Piper is considering a consolidation of its two City offices, which could lead to a 300,000 sq ft requirement.

The law firm is based at an 110,000 sq ft office in Noble Street, EC2, and a 41,000 sq ft office in 1 London Wall, EC2.

Since the merger of UK firm DLA with US firm Piper Rudnick, it has been keen to move staff under one roof – and called for pitches from agents.

Meanwhile, Anglo Irish Bank is evaluating pitches from agents for a 150,000 sq ft move, while GE Capital is thought to need a similar-sized office.

And Cancer Research UK has selected Jones Lang LaSalle to advise on its 130,000 sq ft Midtown search. However, Deutsche Bank withdrew from its 80,000 sq ft, short-term letting at 175 Bishopsgate, EC2. It was subletting from the European Bank of Reconstruction & Development.

JLL advised Deutsche; Drivers Jonas advises EBRD.
