Law firm settles in Edinburgh’s Capital Square

Law firm Eversheds has taken a 6,000 sq ft office on the ground floor of the Capital Square development in Edinburgh.

Eversheds is the sixth occupier to commit to the building, owned by BAM Properties and Federated Hermes. The move follows deals signed with law firms Anderson Strathern, Pinsent Masons and Brodies, audit and tax adviser Mazars, and civil engineer Stantec.

The building is now 95% let, with one suite of 9,241 sq ft remaining on the second floor.

Capital Square has been designed to BREEAM Excellent and EPC A standards. It is equipped with LED lighting, electric car charging points and solar panels. It also features bee hives, bird nesting boxes and wild flower planting in the private gardens.

Mark Broderick, development director at BAM Properties, said: “The lure of green credentials, wellness facilities, and our central location in the sought-after Exchange District, provides this development with an unrivalled offering.”

Craig Watson, director at JLL, who acted jointly with CBRE for the landlords, said: “Occupiers are increasingly demanding buildings which are not only sustainable but provide a high level of service for employees and visitors. Capital Square continues to set a new standard for building amenity and user experience which is evident in the recent letting activity.”

Cushman & Wakefield acted for Eversheds.
