Law firm Mathys & Squire has begun subletting space at its just-acquired floor 15 of the iconic Shard, SE1 .
Paul Cozens, partner at intellectual property law firm Mathys & Squire, said: “We are continuing to expand rapidly and believe that relocating to the Shard will provide a great working environment for our growing team of talented professionals.”
Mathys & Squire, advised by Monmouth Dean, completed a deal in December 2013, to take a 10-year lease on the 28,500 sq ft floor. It had been in negotiations for the space for four months.
The firm is expanding from close to 12,000 sq ft at 120 Holborn, EC1 , however it will not presently need the whole of its new space at the Shard for its HQ.
As a result, it has instructed Monmouth Dean to sublet up to 8,500 sq ft at £67.50 per sq ft.
Cozens added: “We have taken the 15th floor with a view to subletting a portion of it until our planned expansion occupies our entire floor.”
Jones Lang LaSalle and Knight Frank are letting agents on the Shard on behalf of Sellar Property.
